Unite for Your Anthem & your Nation - Bharat Bhawna Diwas

Let’s have a small pondering session. Would you like to stress your memory? So what do you really do on India’s Independence Day? Do you sit at home all day enjoying your holiday? Attend the function for the flag hoisting? Is it enough? Well if you did that, I am glad to acknowledge it. But I can bet most of you just, looked up to the flag in great pride may be for a few moments and then you were back onto your couch watching some latest pirated cd/dvd movie and enjoying the holiday. Your feelings need to augment from such few moments you looked up to the flag to your entire day. One needs to aggrandize this feeling of patriotism all year long & for entire lifetime too. One must take pride in saluting the flag and standing for the National anthem. One must also keep in mind that they are not the first ones to do it. Freedom fighters and legends have lived, died and relived in our hearts portrayed as true Indians. One should not just bank on the Indian citizenship to call themselves a true Indian. It is the feeling of patriotism that defines true nationality of a person. India is the land of the freedom fighters and legends that have snuggled the gallows for their ideals and thinking. Every drop of these martyr's blood has fought not for itself but for the country.
The concept of abstract patriotism has today become indigent instead of indigenous. India is a country where patriotism needs to be reinstituted and redefined. We all probably remember about India & invoke patriotism when there is an Indo-Pak cricket match and when terrorists bomb our trains. We definitely don't remember it when we cast our vote in the elections, when a hungry beggar who has been starving for days asks for a rupee, when we shamelessly throw garbage on the roads and yet so many times more. The feeling of patriotism should not be limited only to days like Independence Day and republic day.
Sahara has taken up the initiative to create awareness about the National anthem. Sahara India Pariwar starts an initiative called ‘Bharat Bhawna Diwas’ At 10 am on 6th May 2013, where 1,01,000 Sahara India Pariwar employees will sing the national anthem in uniform in Lucknow at one point , with over 10,00,000 Sahara India Pariwar employees singing the National Anthem at the same time from 4512 Sahara India Pariwar offices across India , Army personnel across 7 states are joining in large numbers to sing the National Anthem at 10 am , with more than 1,00,000 students committed to sing along. Sahara India Pariwar is also aiming to break the international record for the maximum number of people to sing the National Anthem at the same time, the record is currently held by Pakistan with 42,813 people singing the National Anthem the same time.
On the 6th of May 2013 at exactly 10 AM, you and all our countrymen are requested to sing the National Anthem wherever you are, at home or at schools and colleges and even on the roads. Several other Indians have also pledged to join this innovative initiative to showcase national pride and patriotism to the fullest. Don’t Limit your Patriotism to Independence & Republic Day

In today’s fast paced world, many people are unable to keep track of their responsibilities to parents, friends and families, let alone to the entire nation. However, being part of a nation reserves our obligation to feel patriotic of and for our mother land and everything that she has to offer. Going out of our way to prove our patriotism can be quite a task and may seem like a daunting challenge because most may not know from where to start.

Sahara has conceptualized the Bharat Bhawna Diwas to give every Indian citizen a chance to come together with other members of our country and in one single unified voice proclaim our patriotism for India. Over 1,00,000 Sahara Pariwar employees will stand up and be joined by other members of our country as they sing the national anthem to topple the current record holders for most people singing the national anthem held by Pakistan.

This event will open up people who are participating and watching to the ideologies of patriotism that seem to have been hidden by our constant endeavors of other materialistic gains in today’s world. This will ensure that people do not forget their roots and loyalty for our wonderful country India.

Jana Gana Mana - One Nation, One Voice

The song Jana-gana-mana, composed originally in Bengali by Rabindranath Tagore, was adopted in its Hindi version by the Constituent Assembly as the national anthem of India on 24 January 1950. It was first sung on 27 December 1911 at the Calcutta Session of the Indian National Congress. The complete song consists of five stanzas. The first stanza contains the full version of the National Anthem.

Jana-gana-mana-adhinayaka, jaya he
Bharata-bhagya-vidhata.
Punjab-Sindh-Gujarat-Maratha
Dravida-Utkala-Banga
Vindhya-Himachala-Yamuna-Ganga
Uchchala-Jaladhi-taranga.
Tava shubha name jage,
Tava shubha asisa mange,
Gahe tava jaya gatha,
Jana-gana-mangala-dayaka jaya he
Bharata-bhagya-vidhata.
Jaya he, jaya he, jaya he,
Jaya jaya jaya, jaya he!

Playing time of the full version of the national anthem is approximately 52 seconds. A short version consisting of first and last lines of the stanza (playing time approximately 20 seconds) is also played on certain occasions. Written in highly Sanskritized Bengali , the passages eulogize the immense power of India's diversity in unity. A handwritten translation in English which Gurudev called 'The Morning Song of India' is available online, so inspiring for its cursive beauty as well as lyrical thought. Although he wrote five lengthy stanzas to 'Jana Gana Mana', only the first was recorded because of time constraints. "Most people are unaware that the 52-second version we hear is part of the whole. On the rare occasion that they do get to listen to the entire song, they are surprised. The Indian National anthem completed 100 years in the year 2011. In its 100-year-old history, the Indian national anthem has played a key role in unifying a country torn apart by a bloody partition, nationalist movement and popular uprisings. It has moved a country to tears during sporting victories, unfurling of the national flag and cultural and public occasions. The Indian national anthem provides our country with a unique identification. It allows people of the nation to bring the magnificent past back to life and evoke a feeling of pride and contentment towards their nation. It serves as a reminder of the past of a country, and the present state of affairs of the country, to its citizens. India is a country with multiple cultures, innumerable languages, and a lot of religions and communities living together. The national anthem, Jana Gana Mana, is what drives free India in a single direction. But today, the question must be asked; Are we really Independent? Solve that little doubt in your heart right now, by being a part of Bharat Bhawna Divas. This Monday, on the 6th of May at Lucknow, experience the national anthem like never before. An initiative of the Sahara India Pariwar, Bharat Bhawna Diwas is attempt to attract the largest group of Indian citizens, from all over the nation, to sing the national anthem in unison, in a bid to break the world record of the largest gathering to sing the national anthem in any country across the world. Jana Gana Mana is the identity of the nation. Sing along with 1, 01,000 Indians like you, and rediscover your own identity.

Are you looking for an Avenue for Patriotism?

If our country is in distress or danger we should be ready to stand by her, to work for her, to lay down our lives for her if it’s needed be. Our country has given us her love and care, nursed us on her lap, and nourished us in shade of her shelter. Our motherland has always kept us in a cloud of love and care. If you do not love your country, the feeling can be defined in one single word- Ingratitude.  A hidebound confined patriotism can be defined as positive danger. Nothing can be more definitive of confined patriotism than the incongruous cry of the English poet, “My country, right or wrong”. It is this son of foolish thing that the Englishmen constantly applaud in themselves and condemn in others. Patriotism must be sobered by a proper respect for other people’s culture. Above all whenever we are ready to launch forth in a career of national boastfulness, let us remember Edith Cavell’s noble words: “I must have no hatred or bitterness towards anyone”. This is a pattern adapted by the Father of our Nation.
Mahatma Gandhi had declared similar motive from behind the bars, Patriotism is good, but it must not displace the feeling of universal love for all humanity. Do you believe in patriotism and do you have incomparable love for your country? Are you looking for an outlet to express your love for your country and your anthem? If yes, 6th May is the date for you, support Sahara India Pariwar's initiative - Bharat Bhawna Diwas. Many a times in life though one may feel hopelessly patriotic; there isn’t really any outlet for them to channel this emotion into. They wonder if anything they do will be enough or will just go by without being noticed. It is difficult to mobilize people, emotions and sentiments to convey patriotism or any other feeling one holds towards their country.
Sahara Pariwar has conceptualized the Bharat Bhawna Diwas that will call on all members  of the country to come together along with 1,00,000 Sahara Pariwar employees and army personnel from various different states and sing the national anthem in one unified voice at 10 AM on the 6th of May. By mobilizing the people, their emotions and their unified voice, Sahara hopes to upload videos of this nationwide event in order to compete with Pakistan who currently hold the world record with 43,000 people. Because the national anthem is unique to our country and the emotions that it can evoke will solely be with the people of India; it is in a bid to bring everyone together and portray what India’s unity is worth. National integration and a sense of patriotism towards our country and fellow members of the nation will help individuals understand patriotism and view it differently. Do turn up in huge numbers wherever you are to support your nation and your National anthem. Remember the date, 6th May at 10 AM.

Bharat Bhawna Diwas - Initiative for Patriotic India

The common man of democratic India is deemed to be a puppet dancing to the tunes of politicians, but if you take some time out to do a reality check it will come to your notice that he finds his own profit in every deed aggravated by them. Have you ever wondered that the thing which gets lost in this ‘unethical symbiosis’ is again called patriotism! While talking of India, one major class of people can be occasionally forgotten. It is widely defined on the economical platform thus it results in socially impotent and backward class. It is rightly said – An empty stomach cannot blow the seditious sound of the war bugle. Thus one cannot apprehend them to play a pivotal role in reinventing patriotism. This situation should be extricated in course of time and not in a jiffy. What cannot be overridden should be endured. Patriotic sentiments cannot be calculated in a windfall, they will have to be encompassed on tender hearts that will remain calm in the blizzard of the ambiguous future.
Our education policies thus need to be considered for accurate measures and must be rectified. More national awareness and respect should be encapsulated into the educational curriculum. The paraphernalia could be nothing more than a guileless allegiance for making a patriotic India. Patriotism need not have a mass motive, it need not be national. Small things and actions influenced with a notion of doing good things to other countrymen is patriotism. Patriotism should be imbibed by us to use it appropriately in our day to day lives. As Elphinstone proposed ‘Divide eta rule’, that is, the path towards conquering an empire is division. Thus we will have to give up the biased thinking that we have inclined towards the society. That is the social divisions made by ourselves for various segments of the society which need to be abolished. If we do not act for the cause quickly, it won’t take long for another British Empire to crack us down.
The Sahara India Pariwar has come up with a noble initiative to invoke unity through Bharat Bhawna Diwas. Sahara India Pariwar which is renowned from the past 35 years has proposed an initiative to sing National Anthem by uniting the people of India under one roof. Pakistan is currently holding the current World Record of 42,813 people at one place singing the National Anthem. Sahara India Pariwar has initiated to create a second world record with 1, 01,000 Sahara India Pariwar Workers singing the National Anthem together at one point in Lucknow in one Uniform. The uniqueness of the cause is to invoke patriotism in the citizens of India by evoking them. The common man, army personnel, students of the college enlighten towards raising one voice the day of 6th May 2013 will be remarkable in the history and it will be called as the Bharat Bhawna Diwas. The volunteers of the great cause are going to install a huge number of cameras at prominent places which will capture your faces and immediately upload on YouTube. Make your presence felt to the world by showering the love or patriotism and joining the unique cause of the Bharat Bhawna Diwas which will unite the people of India. Let the Unity in Diversity of India come together to support the unique cause of Bharat Bhawna Diwas.

Be There for India - Sahara Bharat Bhawna Diwas

The placidity and calmness of our country is often denounced more by internal perturbances than out of the country assailment. The diversity in the cultures of its subjects unfortunately is the prominent cause for animosity between religious antagonists in India. There is so much difference that a common man belonging to one religion finds in another man of other religion though being the very same, an INDIAN. India has subjects following a number of religions which have their own organizations to spread the greatness of their religion that they have realized. Such organizations are very pivotal in making an affluent and patriotic India. As their aim is to pay heed to the needs of their followers. In this way every Indian will be benefited in some or the other way. It should be also important for these organizations to publicize patriotism as they find themselves amongst the biggest organizations in India. Not only being patriotic towards your country is patriotism but honoring our opponents’ patriotic feelings is also a facet of the diamond, patriotism.
Patriots don’t talk about taking life but of giving life for their country. Patriotism is not all about attack, it’s about defense, and it’s about counterattack. It should not be a formality, a formality of saluting the national flag and 52 seconds of freezed stature during the national anthem. May be even a freezed heart with no gratitude for the martyrs because of whom we are living off so well. Do you remember these golden words? "At the stroke of midnight, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom" - Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first Prime Minister on the eve of India's independence in 1947. The 15th of August strikes such a chord in every Indians heart that the true patriot comes out in each and every one, which can be seen majorly when everyone sings the National Anthem with utmost love and respect for India.

One Belief, One Voice, One Anthem - Bharat Bhavna Diwas

Patriotism is a noble sentiment as it is based on devotion and selfless sacrifice of the people. It is the foundation that holds the structure of the nation. It is a pious sentiment and has always been adored by the people of all the nations. A man who does not have this noble sentiment lacks the sense of self-respect too. He is the weak end of the nation who can succumb to pressure and may not become slave himself alone but may help the oppressor in making the whole nation slave. It is a different thing to not have patriotic sentiment because some might not show any affection and love. But they go on to criticize the sentiments of Patriotic people who have sense of self worth and want to serve their nation and people. Do you have this patriotic feeling inside you? If you do, what is the thing which invokes the feeling of national pride in you? What do you feel when you listen to the National anthem? Does listening to the National anthem conjure up the feeling of national pride inside you? If yes, then stand up for the nation and for the anthem on 6th May. It is all about showing the unity in diversity all together in one voice.

Rise and Shine with National Pride - BBD Initiative

The Indian National anthem represents the aspiration and endeavor of the people of India. It is the symbol of our national pride. As Mahatma Gandhi said “It will be necessary for us Indians, Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Jews, Parsis and all others to whom India is their home, to recognize a common anthem to live and die for.  Sarojini Naidu rightly said “Under National symbols, there is no prince and there is no peasant, no rich and no poor. There is only duty, responsibility and sacrifice." The words of former president R Venkataraman is worth remembering: "Our flag & National anthem embodies the blessings of all those great souls who sacrificed their lives to initiate the freedom struggle. The National anthem entices us to accomplish the perception of a just and united India. As we encounter important challenges which at times pose as a threat to our security, our unity and integrity. We must rise to the call of the National anthem to commit ourselves to the endowment of that peace and order wherein all Indians irrespective of creed, caste or sex will fulfill themselves.

The National Anthem stands for the spirit of the nation, its tradition and culture and at the same time it always blends in the upcoming the new traditions, developments and intact stature of the humanity. United Patriotic India - United National Anthem

The expansion and awakening of patriotism in India during British regime can classified as yesterday's history. This glorious period of national chauvinism gave India a humungous number of punctilious martyrs and freedom fighters. The patriotic scene of the country has been on a high since martyrdom of Adivasi patriot Tilka Manjhi in Bihar in 1747 to the episode in Karnataka where Rani Chenamma of Kittur and her five associates Rayanna, Jagvir, Nagarkatti, Chennavasappa and Balanna sacrificed their lives for the initiative of attaining freedom for the country in 1824.
The influx of this incomparable feats of patriotism was then transferred to Maharashtra and then gradually moving towards to the North when in 1857 the whole country staged an uprising following the patriotic lead of Mangal Pandey, Nana Sahab, Tatya Tope and Jhansi's Rani Laxmibai. These freedom fighters were involved in a pattern of aggressive yet fruitful pattern of initiating the freedom struggle. One man followed a contrasting method to attain the same motive. Mahatma Gandhi's non-violent movement too gave a huge number of patriots from 1921 to 1940 that gave up their lives and proceeded to the gallows with a smile on their faces.
The year 1942 again saw an augmentation of violent patriots. Whatever is the pattern of approach, violent or non-violent expression the motive of the freedom fighters against Britishers that started in the South from Kittur in the trend of a people's uprising ended too in the South in 1947, against the high-handedness of the Nizam, who were nothing but a puppet of the Britishers. Patriotism does not limit to just being patriotic towards your country but it also means honoring our opponents’ patriotic feelings. This sentiment can be classified as a facet of the diamond which we call patriotism. Patriots don’t believe nor do they speak about taking life. There are more inclined towards sacrificing their life for freedom of the country.
Patriotism and national pride is not all about attack, it is about defending the country's honor and fighting for your country. The National symbols, National Flag and National anthem play a pivotal role depicting the patriotic feelings of an individual. At last I feel, what cannot describe patriotism better than the National anthem. It can be defined as a basket of words that defines India as a whole. Sahara’s initiative of uniting the country along with the national anthem is a step forward in the direction of instilling a sense of patriotism in each and every one of us.
The Bharat Bhawna Diwas will see over 1, 00,000 Sahara Pariwar workers standing up together to sing the national anthem at the same time. They will be joined by common men, children in schools, colleges and other citizens of the country who will not only sing with full gusto but also record various video clips to upload for the country and the world to see. Promoting this nationwide event will also ensure that we break the current world record for most people singing the national anthem which is currently held by Pakistan.

It was first sung 27 December 1911 at the Calcutta session of the Indian National Congress. The complete song consists of five stanzas. The lyrics were rendered into English by Tagore himself.
